Less costly than replacing your whole kitchen

Renovating a kitchen is often the biggest voluntary expense any home owner will experience. But, it doesn’t need to be. The cost of refinishing is usually a fraction of the price of a new kitchen.

Gutting your kitchen and going through the expense of replacing all of your cabinetry to modernize or simply change its color makes little sense when this is no longer the only solution. You have options.

Refinishing and Restoring

If you have good quality doors and drawer fronts and want to restore your kitchen or change its color, we can strip, sand, and refinish all frames, doors, and drawers, when applicable. We can refinish frames by hand in your home, or sometimes we’re able to remove the cabinets from your home and refinish them in our shop. As for the doors and drawer fronts, they would go to the shop and get redone there.

Once everything is stripped and ready, you would then come to our shop to explore and choose your color. Once refinished, we return to your home and install your newly refinished doors, drawers, and any frames removed.

If you would like to change things up a bit to make more effective use of your space, we can custom build cabinetry to attractively meet both your needs and the needs of your kitchen.

Refacing your kitchen

If you’re looking to leverage what you already have, refacing your current cabinetry is a cost-effective solution that doesn’t sacrifice quality. It’s an opportunity to revitalize your space while enhancing your existing investment.

Sometimes, we are are looking to maximize the value of our kitchen while minimizing the financial impact of doing so. This is often the case when moving, and we are getting our current house ready for sale. Sometimes, we simply want to change our doors to a more modern or richer look, or to change our space to match our personal taste. Furniture Doctor provides a line of thermal and solid wood doors. With the thermal doors, we can also order gables for the side of your cabinets.

If you have frame cabinets, we can help you select a color to match or complement the color of doors you chose and paint the outside of the cabinets. We can also provide kick plates, valances, and crowns in the same material as your doors. It’s cost-effective and very modern looking.

For a richer, more expensive kitchen, you can replace your doors with solid wood doors. You can choose from maple, oak, or cherry, and you have your choice of different profiles and raised panels.
